I am a senior in high school, as is documented in my hot or not thread. I haven't played basketball since 8th grade. I was real good in like 6th grade but stopped trying to get better after that because I hated running and was kinda short and a little "chubby." I actually played with Dustin Salisbery (played at Temple and was signed to some NBA team for a short while), Pat Bostick (QB on Pitt), and Lasean McCoy (RB on Pitt) before high school, but thats just a side note. Open gyms are for another one and a half weeks. Tryouts are 3 days long and start on the 15th or something like that. On the way home from the Penn State game I suddenly decided that I should try out for basketball. For a few reasons...

My team is top 5 in the state
I am now 6' 4", 7 inches taller than Freshman year
I suddenly have an extreme desire to play
It is senior year and I have nothing to lose
I used to be good

Why I am doubting it...

Even open gyms require at least 1 hour of running, hard
Tryouts are three consecutive days of 2 hours of sprints (this is done to scare people away)
I might not play much

I did buy these shoes today though for my first open gym tommorow



So you all will be given daily updates on my progress. I might even do prop bets, but proof is hard to provide.

PS-(DISCLAIMER: Read nothing into this):
I am white and skinny, but very slow
On the plus side, there are like no black kids at my school, which significantly increases my chance of making the team
