Default heads-up at the end of 6-10 seated SNGs

I played 1265 SNGs(6,9,10 seated) since august. My statistic: first place: 172 times, second place: 225 times. So my HU at the end of SNGs is 43%. Is it good stat? Is it possible to be more than 50% HU at the end of SNGs?

I think you should def be more than 50%. This is where you will make most of your money in these things if I am not mistaken.

Well obviously it's possible to win heads up games more than half the time.. I hope you can see why.

What you need to do is figure out why you are coming in second more than first. If you on average have equal stacks with your opponent when the heads up phase starts, your results would go to say you have significant leaks in your heads up game. If, on the other hand, you typically have significantly less chips than your opponent heads up, your results aren't necessarily caused by poor heads up -play.

If you often have less chips than your opponent at the start of the heads up, you probably need to play more aggressively when 3 or 4-handed.

heads up at the end of a 6 man is different from HU at the end of a 9 man, often youll be playing deeper and against more aggressive opponents, and this completely changes the nature of the HU sng play...I honestly wouldn't compare the two too closely, but focus on plugging leaks in both. the short of it is, yes, I would think that if you were better than your opponents that you could win more than half the time once you get HU.

If you're folding into the money a lot then your firsts are going to be pretty low even though your ROI can still be decent.

I'm having the same problem. I think I push too wide, but sngwiz doesn't have a problem w/ my pushes for the most part
at 200/400 and 300/600, which makes it frustrating.

Thank you for replies. I play with ICM calculator too, and i always push with +EV, but my HU is bad... Hence i am playing only 6seated SNG with 60-40 structure. I hope my problem will be marginal here.

i dont know that this is the case for you guys specifically, but you need to consider the possibility that you should be futzing with ranges in sngpt/sngwiz because you might be miscalculating FE and calling ranges in certain spots. This is a common leak in working with the software and not finding out about all of its implications on your play.
