Default Sushi eating competition

OK, there was some talk of eating exploits in the NYC thread. Let's have an El D Forum sushi-eating competition.

Obviously there will be honor system involved here, whatever, I trust you guys.

Let's talk about some rules.

Nigiri = 1 piece.

Should rolls be allowed? If so, what is the right piece of roll / nigiri ratio?

How about other items like potstickers?

OK, let's get some rules discussion going

i think we should make this a west coast vs east coast competition and have both competitions take place where others are present. some of us eat in sf, some in nyc. good idea?

I don't understand the general premise of the contest -- is it a who-can-eat-more competition?

i think cost analysis should be included for the true winner. anybody can order tamago and salmon and not break the bank.

it takes complete degeneracy to order the chu/oh toro, aji, usuzukuri, for an all you can eat contest.

pj,

OK, let me ask a question for clarification. Are you wondering if the object of a sushi eating competition is to eat the most sushi?

Shadow,

Yes, I could sound a lot more pretentious than that.

There are no losers in a sushi eating competition, but yes, the point is to eat the most sushi.

Rolls should not be allowed, unless this competition is for schoolgirls.

from your post OP it sounds like you haven't eaten much sushi before. nigiri is a lot more similar to each other than rolls, rolls can get pretty funky with mayonaise and lobster heavy stuff, or they can be pretty light (cucubmer rollies) so, yea... this contest be cotesting mucho dinero
