Default Full Tilt: US vs. Non-US Affiliate

I've been looking to open an account at Full Tilt but I'm not sure whether it should be with my current affiliate (US based) or someone else situated outside the US. Obviously having everything with one sites makes it easier to track plus I would no longer have to pay the neteller fees my affiliate charges to transfer me my rb from other sites (since it could be transfered over Full Tilt).

The only problem is I'm worried about the situation regarding US affiliates and their legality. I'm not quite familiar with their situation and no one seems to have made a statement. On top of this, TT did say that his lawyer recommended that he close down his affiliate which is a little disconcerting as well. All this combined with the future of online poker being unclear in the US is what's making me hesitant.

Basically what I'm asking is what is the current situation regarding affiliates in the US and am I paranoid to think that it could be deemed illegal for them to operate in the future?

Thanks
