Should I call the 2k - while getting favourable pot odds but while knowing as well that I had to hit the flop very, very hard to proceed here?

Villain was no extraordinary special player (for this limit), 28/13 over 150 hands, attempt to steal around 30%.

You're playing for his stack.

If you call, you can bank on his remaining 3k+ to get in there on any flop. so look at it as needing to call 5100 into his 7900, your 2800, so 5100 into 10,700 or about 2 to 1. I put him on a pair less than aces enough to think this is profitable, so yep... get it in there and gamble I guess.

This spot blows goats by the way.

Make your steal more like 2400, then it would be easier to get away form if he went well over the top

i think this hand does an excellent job of illustrating just how important stack sizes are when attempting to resteal, getting around 2 to 1 for more than half your stack when you're fairly sure that you're beat is exactly the spot you don't want to put yourself in

the best part about the situation that you find yourself in is that no matter what you do it's not really a mistake, unfortunately this is a direct result of there not being any correct play to make either

pretty gross spot. i'd shove over (not expecting him to fold obv) before i flat call that. that's not a good look because its going in on all flops anyway so it doesnt narrow much.

shove > fold > flat call

Am I the only one who likes flat calling the extra t400, getting 3:1? Unless SB and I have a history of steals HU, I'd rather see a flop and play poker with position.

As played, SB is pot commited and will push in on any flop. If you think you're best, get your money in now. Otherwise it will be heartache on any flop you miss.

BTW - My read is a bigger ace, maybe AK/AQ that is value betting.
