Default Re: Renting a car in europe (+driving in europe)

I bought a car in Europe so this information might be dated. Previously when I did rent on two occasions I found that there were used car dealerships that were willing to sell me a car and then buy it back from me six weeks later. This turned out to be about a 1/3 of what it would have cost to rent a vehicle properly. I'm not sure how common this is but might be worth looking into. It depends on how long you plan to stay but given you listed four countries I assume you are going for some time.

The actual driving experience is a little different but nothing you can't handle. The highway driving is pretty much the same. When you start getting into more rural areas the roads are narrower then what you'd normally see in NA.

At least in western Europe I've never seen an automatic car so I assume you are comfortable with standard.

Not a chance you can do this without a driver's license. What are you thinking? Get it sent to you somehow.
