The reason I ask is because one of the email addresses for the guys on the Costa Rican IP is for a webpage registered to Domain Discreet.

So my question is, exactly what is known about Domain Discreet? Is it a HUGE deal to contact them, presumably offline, to register a domain? If not, then it isn't a big deal. If it's much more difficult to use Domain Discreet than any other registration service (most have websites I think...), then this might be another clue that this is some group that is attempting to hide its activities.

you are the man I've always said from the beginning this is an inside job that AP knows about but as soon as I read this I knew 99.9% AP is in on this. The main reason someone would try to cover their tracks so hard is if they don't want this coming back to AP or the KGC. Also don't like 100 different poker sites advertise that they are governed by the Kawanke GC. WTF is going on here

From a guy on P5s...

-------------

You need nslookup and whois not ping and trace....

66.212.244.147 is mail.riveraltd.com telneting to it on port 25 gets a greeting from a mail server. It *IS* a mail server.

Also that IP is NOT the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. Are you ready for this... It is AP.

Mohawk Internet Technologies MIT-BLK-01 (NET-66-212-224-0-1)
66.212.224.0 - 66.212.255.255
Absolute Entertainment S.A. MIT-ABPOK-02 (NET-66-212-244-128-1)
66.212.244.128 - 66.212.244.255

Go to http://www.arin.net and enter the IP address in a whois search. That connection is from one of their own IP's....

So, apparently, I don't know enough about this stuff and JackBileDuct knows a lot more than me.

But it appears that it's somehow assigned to AP by the KGC. So it has to have been an inside job, 100%.

So the fact that the email address of one of the mysterious matching IP addresses appears to be hosted there isn't all that huge, is it? e.g. my first reaction was "ZOMG, does this mean that Kahnawake is somehow in on this!??", but isn't it possible that poker sites not only have their gaming servers up there (the reason that often many of the big sites go down at once), but ALSO that they host their email accounts from there? (I'm sorry if I wasn't as elegant as I would have liked in that description...I'm not well-versed in this stuff.)

In short, while this corroborates the premise that this was an inside job, does the email account being hosted there point to any NEW parties that might be involved or not?

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, it's more likely in my mind that this is an AP employee than someone at the KGC. But it basically CONFIRMS that it was an inside job.

[/ QUOTE ]

And what it ALSO does, although I'm sure you realized this too, but I thought I'd spell it out, is confirm an "insider" link between the 2 accounts that were originating from the same IP address in the tourney, right?

One of the two matches was:
1) The guy with Absolute ID #363, more or less conclusive evidence that he was some guy who registered in the VERY early going, e.g. possibly a rogue programmer or the like, and

2) The OTHER guy with the matching IP address whose email address is hosted somewhere in Kahnawake.

In other words, there's evidence that both of users are "insiders" to some extent (although I guess the fact that they were sharing the same IP address was enough to link the two anyway)

Right, I agree that it links them beyond any reasonable doubt

Anyone have any idea how early account 363 would've been made? Lots of people are making it sound like it would've been made before the site went public. Is it reasonable for there to be that many accounts made that early?

Very reasonable. They have to test the large MTT's with 1000s of accounts.

I could see maybe if they wanted to test some multitable tournaments that they might want a few hundred accounts.
