Default RAM upgrade help

Hi,

I recently bought a cheap Acer Aspire 5315-2153 laptop.

It runs on Vista basic w/ 1gb RAM alright but I was looking into upgrading it to 2GB.

In the manual it says "Up to 1gb DDR2 533 MHz memory, upgradeable to2 GB using two soDIMM modules (dual channel support.)"

I don't really understand what this means. If somebody could link me to where I could purchase said modules, that would be great,

Thanks.

http://Ebay.com, http://newegg.com

You should use CPU-Z (google it) to better determine the exact type of memory before you buy anything. Keep in mind that 1gb you have right now is prolly two 512 sticks, so you will likely have to buy two new 1gb sticks to max it out.

Yes I figured that was the case. I dloaded cpu-z and it didn't tell me anything I didn't already know aside from confirming that it is indeed 2 512 sticks currently.

Basically I need 2 1gb sticks of DDR2 533 Mhz sodimm?

lol you bought that one for 350 at walmart eh? Nice bargain for sure. I'm guessing it uses low density ram.
