Default Tilt inducing wild man (LC)

Seat 1 is simply unbelievable. I think I have seen this guy win $4-$5K at the 10/20 tables in the last two days. He hits almost every long shot hand he plays. His winning has been amplified since he seems to be driving other players into a tilting frenzy. I have been playing on line for about two years now, and I cannot recall a situation that even approaches what I have been witnessing here.

This is clearly expert play by both players... They are thinking on levels that we on 2+2 can't even comprehend.

He has renewed my faith in poker - very well thank you. I think though much of it is due to the bad play he induced in others. If he was in a hand, many of the other players stuck around no matter what. This made for some big pots - so picking your spots was very profitable.

When players like this are hitting, they can be infuriating. Roy Cooke has written some great essays about this (in he games) in his Real Poker books. As I recall, he said something very similar to your observation -- you make money not just from the maniac but from the ways he throws the other players off their games.

Presuming that Seat 1 knows his effect on Seat 4, I think he played this hand pretty well.

I know a couple of people who are really really good at playing like this in other games, and can totally switch their gear depending on if they're playing a tilter or not. They make a fair amount of money at it, and it's always wonderful to be the non-tilter in the game and prey on the tilters without the investment.
