comments on 3rd street please.... I'm not sure what to do here. I feel all other streets are great.

I prefer the raise on third, but I'll sometimes flat-call as well. I might wait until sixth to raise, but I would raise fifth more often.

looks fine, since you read villain as aggressive, i dont see him not re-raising with aces on 3rd, and surely he would've 3-bet 5th or raised 6th, so you're good

as long as you get the raise in as a double-bet, without much chance of knocking an opponent out, its fine

Resse in SS1 advises limping with any rolled set. Roy West in his henious book advises turning your set up and moving all in. I tend to play it the Reese way unless boards start to get drawy.

Here, lots of cards are dead and the ace hasn't shown strength. I limp. I want to play a big pot.

Also, when you raise with a weak upcard I find that two things happen

1) You don't get credit for a big hand, yet
2) you still get checked to.

So while it will enable you to lead the betting, you wont be able to sexy check raise the field.

Cgrohman, I think you are confused. A Jack completed the bet and an Ace called. The best play is to raise it right there. You have two other players in the pot. Cold calling would be comparable to cold calling with pocket aces in hold'em after a raise and a call. If he was acting first, limping may be correct, but after two players commit a full bet to the pot, get them even more committed with another bet.
