$100NL, KK on button facing UTG limp raise
I know this isnt medium stakes, but I would like an opinion on this from two different stake levels.
Ok so my buddy and I had different opinions on the way this hand was played. Does the A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] on the flop discount the chance of him having AA enough to continue with the hand? Do you continue with the hand or give it up? What do you all think? villain is 17/14/4 after 50 hands. Do you think limp re-raising UTG w/ AK is a +EV play? The game was playing pretty tight for a Bodog cash game. |

Neither, this looks pretty much like a standard weird spot I encounter all the time.

Re: $100NL, KK on button facing UTG limp raise
I do it to get the dead money in the pot from the people weakly calling his raise. The thing is a loose maniac will raise my UTG limp with a FAR FAR wider range than he will call my UTG raise with. Alot of maniacs love to be the opener/leader going into the pot. If you raise you take that away. When you LRR AK you get all the people who are sick of the maniac and taking a stand with their QTo and J9o etc crap dead money when you LRR the maniac everyone gives you cred for QQ/AA/KK/AK because they know you expect the maniac to raise and you just trapped him. I'll generally get JJ/TT/AK and MAYBE, rarely but maybe QQ to fold from players whoa re too passive to 3bet JJ/TT/AK but will fold to your LRR.
