Re: The Fate of #756 by Marc Ecko
Reading Bonds threads puts me on life tilt.
The man isn't a villain. He's a guy who plays baseball. If you're going to visit the HOF with your son or daughter and vilify Bonds for his alleged steroid use, I hope you point out Ty Cobb's blatant racism, Babe Ruth's gluttony, Mickey Mantle's womanizing and alcoholism, Gaylord Perry's spitballs, and all the other unethical things ballplayers have done over the years. Life isn't black and white, and Bonds is just another shade of gray like you and me. |

When I was a kid my parents took me to Cooperstown every summer during induction weekend. Walking through the HOF and seeing all the memorobilia was always thrilling as a young baseball fan. I think it is disrespectful to young fans in the future to do anything but just send it in as is. Bestow it. [/ QUOTE ] this is retarded. |

Re: The Fate of #756 by Marc Ecko
My first thought was that "launch it into space" would win by a landslide.
Sorta like the "throw it back!" thing when catching the visiting teams homer. No way they put the marked side up anyway, so it doesn't really matter. |

Re: The Fate of #756 by Marc Ecko
why are they branding it with an asterisk? that is retarded. i thought he was going to put his clothing brand name on the ball. that would be funny as hell.
anyways you guys getting all upset because you cant go to the baseball museum of history and see the ball make me laugh. do people actually go and stare at all the balls. this is the one, this is the one hank aaron hit. oh and this other one that looks just like it is the one babe ruth hit. and look, there is the bubble gum babe was chewing over there in a petri dish. its just a baseball. who cares? |

Greenies have been apart of the game since the "golden age" stars like Mantle, Mays, Aaron, etc. [/ QUOTE ] Jesus this argument puts me on life tilt. Greenies WERE NOT AGAINST THE RULES until just a couple of years ago! IT WAS NOT CHEATING when Aaron used greenies! Arrrrgghhhh!!! |

[/ QUOTE ] Just curious here, but if the situation with Hank puts you on "lifetilt", why do you apply a shockingly different double standard in regards to Bonds? Even if you assume Bonds used the "clear" and the "cream" as alleged in 2003....THG and HGH were not added to the MLB banned substance list until 2004/2005, with THG being tested for ever since, and Bonds not failing a single test, nor any allegations made of him using since they were banned. |

How are they marking the ball? If its removable, the Hall should wipe it off or something.
