I've dabbled at Party and it is very overhyped. Sure there are fishies there, but at 50nl it really doesn't matter all that much. I haven't played MSNL so I can't really comment there

Dam bazooka87, I remember you saying you just had a BSOD, that's not the end of the world, just the OS won't boot, unless your drive was dead, you can just mount that disk on another OS and get all the data off of it before you format it.

Does anyone play more random games on a daily basis than me? Yesterday was Razz MTT, some limit and no limit. Thursday was all limit. Earlier this week a ton of Omaha. Some 30nl 200bb deep before that. Donkaments. I should like pick a game?

No way Vix, you're gonna be the next horse champion, watch out Deeb. I'm jealous, I can hardly play holdem..

I wouldn't know above SSNL as I've never had the roll to play 400NL and my few underrolled shots never made it.

But from 200NL and down, I can't see party competing with a good rb deal .. and there are plenty of 'fish' everywhere.

Many of those that complain are longing for the days where you just could wait for AA and still be profitable.

I don't believe poker to be a difficult game from a technical point of view, but there are two big obstacles.

1st is experience, you have to log a zillion hands in order to get good at hand reading. (which is why I have no problem with people massively multitabling the micro's, I took my biggest leap in handreading 8 tabling sngs)

2nd is mental. Get used to trowing quite large sums of money around as if there where no tomorrow ... and be able to stand getting raped by variance without losing faith or tilting. The latter is the biggest hurdle.

These two demand putting a LOT of hours into poker. I was dumb enough to quit my job and just play fulltime (without have any skill) .. somehow I survived and now I have a decent amount of skill.

But all the players that have to balance a job and other things while playing poker have the odds stacked against them if trying to become good.

So even disregarding all morons and retards playing for a kick and/or to be gangsta/superior ... there is still plenty of scope for finding 'bad' players. They are just not quite as clueless as three years ago.

I don't think the differences between the sites are significant. (tho good rb deals make a big difference when playing SSNL and below)

Yeah it wasn't a regular blue screen though, UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME I think it was. I really suck with computers so I just gave up on it. Nothing too significant lost, just a lot of music.

regulars at party are better and more aggro than on other sites. Party is just a bigger site, so you can table select better.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hehe ... yeah, party can be wild, Stars regs might be in for a surprise if they show up at party with the intention of pwning.

like when I had a couple of weeks on Monkey tilt terrorizing the 100NL tables with a 32/28/11 game somewhere in the spring of 2007.

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

Yikes, ya, that's not g00t, probably a bad drive, but you could always try to mount it and see if you can get any data off of it.

Yikes I've run into Quads with the second nuts twice in the past 500 hands. And my opponents both slowplayed. LOL!

Experience in poker comes mostly from the conscious decisions you make, not just the number of hands you played. Just logging in a gozillion hands without thinking them through can hardly teach you any more than a pokerstove + math can. But it certainly can [censored] up your thinking process.
