How much should I raise here?

Table Athens, 12 Jul 2007 2:23 PM ET Seat 2: fjipfjap16 ($42.75 in chips) Seat 3: HERO ($177.95 in chips) Seat 4: SAVandelay ($100 in chips) Seat 8: Jakon78 ($25 in chips) Seat 9: lolpatrol70 ($122.65 in chips) ANTES/BLINDS Krbblx posts blind ($0.50), SAVandelay posts blind ($1). PRE-FLOP Jakon78 folds, lolpatrol70 bets $4, fjipfjap16 folds, HER0? I had AA, but I am never sure how much I should 3bet here.

you are in SB i think? so i would 3b to 16$ here since we will be OOP the rest of hand...if you were IP i would raise to 14$ as that is 3.5x the orig raise and thats my personal favorite 3b amount.

If you've been active, then reraise 3-4x. If you've been passive for a while, then there's value in a flat call, as you don't want to blow all your opponents out. The min raise is not good as it gives away your likely range whilst giving odds to outdraw you.

It looks like you're in the SB. If so, I'd make it $14 to go. I tend to make my raises a BB or two higher out of the blinds. If in position, I'd raise it to $12.
