Default I turn set against 2 villains 3 to flush hits on River

Hey chaps,

Can you provide me some advice on how I could have played this hand better? I have some thoughts on what I should have done but I'll listen to feedback first:

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $1/$2 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $274.85
BB: $265.45
Relvin (UTG): $361.40
CO: $380.35
BTN: $199.40

Reads: cutoff is 34/18 through 70 hands
button is 25/14 throught 500 hands

Preflop: Relvin is dealt 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 Players)
Relvin raises to $7.00, CO calls $7.00, BTN calls $7.00, 2 folds

Flop: ($24) 5 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players)
Relvin bets $16.00, CO calls $16.00, BTN calls $16.00

Turn: ($72) 9 (3 Players)
Relvin bets $52.00, CO calls $52.00, BTN folds

River: ($176) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Relvin bets $140.00, CO calls $140.00

Pot Size: $456.00 ($3 Rake)

results in white

cutoff had 35 of spades which made me quite sad

Well played. I bet 120 on river and fold to a raise but otherwise okay.

yep, smaller bet on river was one of things I think I should have probably done, and yes I was intending to fold to raise on river.

120 would have been a perfectly fine amount to make anything other then a flush raise me I think and would have made worse hands more likely to call

I'd bet more on flop/turn and less on river.

$80 on the river looks ok, but you can't bet much less than that as you may invite a bluff reraise IMO

I think I should have bet more on Turn since two opponents remaining and one of them had a pretty big stack, which would have allowed me to extract more if the bigger stack called on a safe river card (I think 62 would have been better on Turn).

I agree with most said here. Flop and turn bets are fine.

I would make a point of that you should not bet more on the turn since you want a flush draw to call so that you might get his whole stack if the board pairs and makes the flush on the river. If you had an overpair I would have bet more.

Against most opponents you should bet the river, but a little less like 100-120. BUT against some opponents like habitual flush chasers I would just check/fold but without read betting is best. I think your opponent is a flush chaser though.
