Default New Article on Michelle Wie

Sad, more than anything else. No point in piling on anymore, although it's certainly time for a hard look at David Leadbetter's role in this disaster.

Agreed, it is really sad. As big as the mental game is in golf...hopefully she can turn it around.

Speaking of, what ever happened to Ty Tryon?

A brief googling seemed to indicate he slipped under w/out a ripple. He had rich parents & he's about 21 now. I imagine he's at college somewhere, nailing mega-hotties while working towards some type of business degree.

But I don't think anyone ever thought he had the potential of Wie, or even some of the guys Tiger played in college & the US Am. I think his Q School win was just one of those six-sigma things; ruined any chance for the Tour he had by taking college golf out of the picture. Plus he got really sick w/mono too, IIRC.

Brutal but honest article. Not the type of thing I'm used to from a golf publication. That probably speaks to how bad the situation is.

Variance. She was running too hot before and things are now evening out.

You either play too much poker or too little golf.

Not a lot of substance in that article - just playing on people's perceptions and throwing out various theories. Did her old coach really say she is lacking "mojo"?

Yeah, she was probably too young, but it's not like she's washed up. She might dissappear for a couple years at Stanford, but I think she'll be fine.

He invested his money well, and is basically set. Still trying to make it to the PGA Tour.
