it feels weird to get that many BBs in w/ 1 pair and be happy about it. The board is dry, so if I'm ahead, he usually has 5 outs at the most.
My live read was that the quick call on the flop was pretty scary and looked a bunch like a set. I didn't really put him on a Q since it seems like he would at least consider raising and he's not the type to think about flops before they come, so I didn't think that he had planned on flat calling a Q high board w/ something like TPTK or KQ. Plus there aren't really that many hands w/ a queen that he could have w/ the action. AQ, KQ (but I have two kings), I suppose QJ, but the raise and the call of my reraise makes this unlikely. The quick call of my preflop raise felt like a pair to me. Probably like 77-JJ, maybe QQ/AA. The call on the flop felt like a pair, like 77-JJ, maybe QQ-AA... I don't really see how pushing or even betting can be correct there. I think it's a checkcall, maybe blockbet the river. Anyway, I checked and he checked behind. River paird the 8 and I led for 5k. He jammed and I folded.

I really don't like us not betting the turn, but then betting the river when a pretty bad card for us falls with the intention of folding.

Yeah, I guess an 8 is very rarely in his hand. Not sure why I thought that was bad.
I'm betting the turn here because I have the best hand often and I want to get value from it. You can still make your 5K bet and fold on the turn if you wanted.

His range is wider than AQ and hands that are beating us so we get more value against his range by betting the river. I'm interested in the idea that a quick flop call is a strong hand from this sort of player. You big buyin live guys...is that your finding?
