sam, lifting in running shoes is preventing you from staying back on your heels during the squat...try barefoot or maybe in chucks, didn't you buy some a while back?

[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but I found them really uncomfortable. I ordered some weight lifting shoes a couple days ago.

I mention it because it looks like you took a peek there right before the forward lurch.

[/ QUOTE ]
Could be. I hate that mirror.

[ QUOTE ]
That actually magnifies my complaint that I think the bar might be a bit forward.

[/ QUOTE ]
Ah OK I misread what you wrote. Get the bar further back, got it.

shemp, I'm watching the squat vid again, and I agree that the problem starts on the way down. I almost dip forward a bit...

Also I notice my depth isn't great on a few of those.

On the plus side, I've gone from 45 -> 115 in 6 weeks, which is great.

SamG,

Maybe do below parallel box squats instead of regular squats for your warmups?

This could help you focus on sitting back more. Dunno :x

I agree with shemp. Every lift should be done as fast as possible in the concentric.

[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I think I need to start my lifts more explosively, not just presses, but squats too.

I really want to learn to clean someday.

I had to Google it.

I really like this idea (except I'm going to have to find a box now, aren't I?).

You can use almost anything. We have these ganster blue stepup things for aerobics. I use 2 typically which gives me a nice deep box squat.

If benches work use that... But for me its like a 2/3rds squat.

9/10 - Cardio: 1h15m volleyball

Our team didn't have enough players and forfeited both matches, but we still played some pick-up games. Drank beer and watched Monday Night Football with my teammates afterwards, probably negating whatever workout I got from playing.
