Sticky proliferation
I'm not a big fan of forums with a dozen sticky threads on top. They take up real estate that IMO should be used for the latest threads, meaning that ("Waaaah! Call the Waaaaahmbulance!") I have to scroll farther down to find what I'm looking for.
But they play a role. My ideal forum would have one sticky thread pointing to a wiki-based FAQ with links to anything else beginners need to know. Or a static header could do the same thing: "Hey [censored]! Read the FAQ first!" Now to my point: What on earth does, [ QUOTE ] Subject: uNL see how they run, YO! Content:gonna do this tomorrow sometime. [/ QUOTE ] mean? Why is this helpful to preserve atop the forum? |
