Sticky proliferation

I'm not a big fan of forums with a dozen sticky threads on top. They take up real estate that IMO should be used for the latest threads, meaning that ("Waaaah! Call the Waaaaahmbulance!") I have to scroll farther down to find what I'm looking for.

But they play a role. My ideal forum would have one sticky thread pointing to a wiki-based FAQ with links to anything else beginners need to know. Or a static header could do the same thing: "Hey [censored]! Read the FAQ first!"

Now to my point: What on earth does,

Sorry guys ive been really busy the past few weeks with finals than work and the holidays. That idea seemed to die so ill take it down.
