Are there any situations where i dont need to take the addon?

the first hour just ended, and i am about 15th outta 300 ppl left with 20k in chips. Do i really need to add an additional 2k?

If not, are there any situations where i shouldnt?

Not to be impolite, but i`d always addon. Although the "real" value of the add-on shrinks with the size of your stack getting bigger, i still take it. I don`t wanna kill myself, if i by any chance would have needed them because of a xxx-scenario.

I always do, im sure you could do some calculations, but if im bankrolled for a tourney, im Adding on, even with 100k.

basically never. i'm sure there is some point where mathematically it is correct to not addon, but i think you would have to be a massive massive massive chipleader. certainly in 15th place take the addon.
