I thought Chan played the AA hand horribly. Why didn't he bet half the pot on the flop, if huck or hachem has a pp like TT-77 they'll call and then check it down to the river. If one calls and bets on the river you can then be pretty sure you're beat. You're losing some value when your flop bet gets called by a smaller pp.

EDIT: unless he had a read of some kind which is Huck plays uber snug and only bets when he has something.

Are you serious? Chan played the AA perfectly. What missed value? On a JJ6 board, AA is way ahead or way behind. Against two players in position, Chan is in a perfect spot to ensure he loses the least when behind and gain the most when ahead. If ahead, an unpaired hand like Hachem's is drawing basically dead; and against a pocket pair there would be 2 outs. Why not check behind the flop and turn to give them a chance to bluff? If they checked the river, he can safely value bet 1/2 the pot and hope to get called by a PP or ace-high. But when Huck bets the size of the pot, with Hachem still left to act behind him, Chan can safely fold because he's only getting 2:1 -- and Hachem could be sandbagging a J even if Huck has the worst hand, and if Huck has 66 or a J, Chan gets away free.

I'm not saying it's an easy play -- it was world class in my opinion. Even if Chan had the best hand, I think he played it fine, though it's obvious he sniffed something out of Huck when he folded. I'd like to know if it was heads up if Chan would have called; maybe we'll find out on the director's cut.

Calling Chan's play there "horrible" is one of the most egregious examples of hubris on 2+2 I've seen in a while. Good luck at the tables, kid.

OMG how did chan just fold his AA to huck seeds 6's full on the river without even blinking an eye...that was some impressive [censored]!

[/ QUOTE ]

Every time I see Johnny Chan play, he's making perfect reads on every hand. He seems to always get his money in good and then fold as soon as he's beat.

I have heard he's a dick, so I always root against him, but I am absolutely astonished by his NLHE play. I think he doesn't get enough credit for still being awesome.

Hellmuth alert! The King of all Poker (in his mind anyway), will be on this morning's PAD (Fri June 15th-epis.#4) talking to Shana in just a few minutes.

He'll appear with about 15 minutes to go in the show and then stay till the end(about 7 minutes in total-not counting commercials).

Many would disagree but I thought Raymer looked like a total geek in the show.

Trying to talk but Doyle and others would just ignore him.
(Get the players to play chinese with him)

Whats with coming back and playing with yourself on national TV. Wait backstage sir.

[/ QUOTE ]

Thought the same thing and when he talked about running for President on ticket with Wayne Root it was pretty embarassing. Even the Aussie, Hachem flinched when he heard Root's name mentioned.

Well, I called Hachem vs Huck when this started, guess I was half right.

Could this also proove Hachem is the best "new school" winner?
