22 against a callingstation
Villian stats are 77/0.47/0.18 wtsd 53 over 250 hands.
He calls with almost everything to the river. I´m probably ahead on the turn so i bet, and i bet the river because i can safely fold if he raise. Standard play? Prima Poker skin Limit Holdem Ring game Limit: $2/$4 5 players Converter Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is SB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG folds, CO calls, Button folds, Hero raises, BB folds, CO calls. Re: 22 against a callingstation
isolating with 22 sucks esp vs a calling station because you never know where you stand except you flop a set
postflop looks good to me btw |

Re: 22 against a callingstation
The preflop raise is very bad, and postflop shows you exactly why.

Re: 22 against a callingstation
By raising, you are isolating yourself OOP with a marginal hand that has little resilience postflop.

Re: 22 against a callingstation
His range is basically any two cards, which amounts to either two overs to your measly duces or a higher pair (like the crushing 33). I don't even think you have the best of it if all 5 cards come out. Since it is likely that he will call you down with almost anything, I don't understand why you would like to isolate him. Also, the BB calling isn't that unlikely, in which case you have just payed 1.5 sb for the pleasure of playing out of position agains (in the best case) 3-4 overcards. If one of them has a pair your crushed.
Complete and hope for a set. |

Re: 22 against a callingstation
ok, maybe the play was too aggro. But i´m a small favorit to win the hand and it is dead money in the pot.
How high are your minimum requirements to isolate this 70% guy? Say, you are OTB with 22 and the same guy is the BB. Do you fold? He will call 100% of the time? Ok, now i have position but i think it is useless against this guy, because he will call anyway. |

Re: 22 against a callingstation
its not said that youre favourite sometime she has 33 & 66 or whatever and all depends on postflop, preflop value doesnt really matter vs this guys imho since he will call you down with any pair and youre almost forced to fire 2 barrels because he will call anyway so this hand becomes more like a lottery postflop and the BB is coming in for the ride now and then. I would isolate 55+ maybe 44+ otB.
Vs this guy i dont mind folding 22 otB with him in the BB btw pos is not useless since you can take a freeshowdown, oop you have always a hard River decision if he bets into you. all in all youre forced to make tough postflop decisiions everytime you do this and that forces you to make mistakes your image is going bad and it can put you on tilt |
