Default Hitting Vegas with a $2,000 bankroll. Whats the best game plan?

I will be accompanying my mother to her NSCA Personal Training Conference at the Flamingo in March. I'm 21 and I've been playing poker for 2 years now. I've been successful playing low limit $1/$2 NLH, $6/$12 Omaha Hi/Lo, and an occasional $30/$60 mixed game at the local casinos. If all goes well I should be able to invest approximately 1/3 of my poker bankroll ($2,000) for poker ventures while in Las Vegas. I know most of the members of this forum are more knowledgable than I about the ins-and-outs of poker in Vegas. So my question is: If you were handed $2,000 to be used strictly for poker in the Las Vegas cardrooms; where would you start? What casinos and limits are best for my bankroll and what tournaments will give me the most play for my money? I'm interested in the UPC but I've just started researching. Any ideas and/or strategies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot and good luck!

Play $2/$5 NL and nothing higher. That would gice you 4 buy-ins. This is assuming you would be OK with losing 1/3 of your bankroll. If not stick to $1/$2.

play the 1/2 games with the higher maxes (e.g. 300), and play tourneys at caesar's...specifically the noon.

20/40 mixed game runs 3x/week at the Wynn starting at 7pm. Just tell the floor (Sage or AJ) you want to play mixed game and to call anyone he knows who might want in. They can get you a rotation game with 1-2 hours notice most evenings.

Ran last night, 8 players for 5 hours. Its built around Mark and John from Foxwoods, both were regulars in the V 40/80 games. Contact AJ and let him know you want to get calls when it spreads.

when you say "built around Mark and John from Foxwoods", do you mean they are the providers or the ones who organized/start the game?

I am a 1/2NL (and some 2/4NL) online player leaving for Vegas tomorrow morning with $2K from my bankroll. I should mention that if I bust the $2K, I will still be rolled fine for online.

This thread is perfect for me, so I hope to hear more advice. So far I have been told to hit up MGM, Bellagio, and the Venetion. I am hearing maybe the Wynn too. I am staying at the Luxor with some guys who won't be playing much poker, but I should get at least 4 hrs/day in. I will be playing during the weekdays if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

Note: I have been to Vegas in my limit days, and I was blown away as to how soft the games were. I hope to have the same experience with NL.
