Answer this way next time.
"Is it our governments job to tell us what is socially acceptable? Because the act of me "gamboling" as you say is not harming anyone else. So is it our governments job to tell me what is harmful for me? If I dont harm anyone else in the process or even possibly harm anyone else in the process then why is it illegal?
I dont see anything wrong with it. Poker helps people with math skills, psychology, and financial management (when used correctly). I dont see a down side. Some may say it is an addicting habit but Im sure most teenagers tried a cigarette before they were 18 and this is just as addicting. Would you ask a 17 year old that smokes why they smoke and point out to them that it is illegal? What about 16 year olds that watch porn or look at it online? Is this not illegal since you need to be 18 to buy it in the store? I can guarantee that if you have a 16 year old son he has looked at porn before. This can be addicting too and doesnt have the positive benefits that poker does."

Since you probably werent going to get in anyways after saying you played poker online I would have gone with this response.

So instead of being told you weren't accepted, you now have to deal with security physically removing you from the building.

There was no threat in the response I gave. If I were the dean I would accept someone that said this based on their quick and logical thought process used to answer the question. I would tell them we have a good law school too.

I wasn't being serious. It's just that if I were the Dean and someone said that to me, I would think they were a huge weirdo.
