Live game. Just sat down. 600 behind. I get AcQd UTG and make it 50 to go (50 is max bring in). Folded to the BB who calls (535 behind). Only played once with BB for about 20 minutes. Nice fella, but don't have much of a line on his play.
105 in the pot. Flop comes A62 two tone clubs. He checks. I bet 75. He calls. 255 in the pot. Turn is an offsuit Ten. He checks. I bet 200. He calls. River is 7c. He leads out for 210 all in. 865:210 or 4:1 pot odds. Easy call? Easy fold? Tough decision? |

I would prefer pot size bet on flop and turn. When he´s still chasing flush he def makes a mistake, you get more money in the pot and get far better odds on the river.
As played its a tough decision, I would fold cause I can't see what you beat there except a stone cold bluff. You think he was able to float around planning to bluff AI on a scare card on river? Just my opinion of course... |

I called. He had A9 offsuit. He was calling with top pair, bad kicker I suppose hoping either he was good or to hit 2 pair or for a scare card to bluff me.

[/ QUOTE ] That's a lot of credit to give a guy who calls with an UTG raise with A9o. Anyways, you can probably call the river given those odds. You could fold here if you think is aggro to encourage him to bluff in the future... |

But dumping off like 2/3 your stack to someone hoping to catch up more in a pot limit game doesn't make much sense to me. It sucks to be here, but I'm calling every time here against an unknown. Also, can I hear some thoughts on checking the turn? |

Also, can I hear some thoughts on checking the turn? [/ QUOTE ] If the effective stack was deeper, I would check the turn here for pot control. But when I get an SPR of ~5 going into the flop, hit my hand, and cross the commitment threshold on the flop against a check-call on a drawy board, I am going to fire again on a blank turn. |

I don't see why you would check the flop here. I assume you think you are in front here, and that that his most problable holding is the flush draw. So what you do with checking is giving away a free card what you definetely don't want here, right? Even if you knew he had an A with a weaker kicker, you wouldn't want him to draw for free to the miracle card.
Turn bet only possibility here IMO... |

As played, I think you have to call on the end and hate it.
I think a pot sized bet works better on the flop. It lets you move in on the turn. You sat down with 60BB and the villain has 50BB or so. Seems that this is the flop you were looking for. You're ahead enough to want to get it all in on the turn when he checks to you. |
