My advice is, don't get into huge disagreements about this with your parents. let them know you're gay.
If you have any gay friends, introduce them to your parents so that they understand they're perfectly normal human beings (don't start humping on the kitchen table ). don't shove it in their face. Eventually they'll come to understand there's absolutely nothing they or you can do about it, and that you're still the same little kid they used to know and love. but be sure to expect that it might take some time for them to adjust. they're probably a little scared and uncertain (different generation) so it's up to you to be mature about this. the worst thing you can do is to start a huge row with them about it. and if after a year they're still pissed off about it, tell them to [censored] off and move out. |
