Jman,

Just announce that this is going to be a regular thing. Every 6 months, 3 months, month, whatever works for you (maybe commit to something like every 6 months, at least, with the potential for increased frequency if you really enjoy it, get good results, etc). Anyone who doesn't follow through is banned from future events (you may need to gather real names in order to make people accountable).

So even if someone loses this time, there's the potential they could win next time. Therefore, incentive to follow through with the avatars...

I prolly will only play Stars just for the tourney so my stars avatar won't end up getting much exposure (i play UB)

I actually thought about this, but I want anyone people with no stars $$ to be able to play.

If this goes well, maybe I'll organize another one and tweak it to make it a charity event.

I have ideas on how we'd go about it, and I'd suggest them, but it'd pretty much be up to the winner how we spent our time.

I hope they will be smart enough to listen to my suggestions and not spend 4 hours talking about preflop starting hands.

Stars hesn't responded to my email so I'm sending another one.

I like the suggestion of a post count req. Here is what I decided:

If you do not have 150 posts as of right now, you can PM me or post in this thread and tell me why I can trust you to gain entry.

I'll set the preliminary tourney date for Thursday, the 22nd, starting around 8pm EST. That should give people enough time to change their avatars, and hopefully people who work or go to school will be free.
