QQ in 2nd position in level 1
This is not my hand, but I think it is interesting. I will present it in stages. $100 MTT, blinds 10/20. Original stacks 3K. You have 2910 and raise UTG+1 to 60. BB with 2850 reraises to 200. What do you do?

Re: QQ in 2nd position in level 1
OK, hero calls. Maybe that isn't controversial.
Flop is JhJdTd. Hero has QhQd. BB checks. What does hero do? |

This is an awesome flop to check. You're way ahead or way behind, and best of all, a Q may let you stack AK. Can't imagine any rationale for betting against a preflop reraiser here.

OK, hero actually bets 200 and BB checkraises to 500, 300 more. What should hero do?
I guess everyone thinks the half pot bet is pretty bad. I am not hero. Actually, this would have been an interesting hand from BB's perspective. |
