host poker player (my current position)- I can move to any game that i want, if am playing in a game that has bunch of rocks and their is a waiting list then i just give up my seat and move to a better game. i also contact the regs and let them know about certain promotions that were having. I absolute love my job!

What is a casino's motive for having such a position? Seems like once the game fills there would be no reason to have a prop, unless I am completely missing the point of a prop...

Also, I don't remember where I saw this, but I have heard that sometimes props aren't allowed to check raise... Are you bound by any rules like this?

Their are several type of props and you cant just be moved to my position off the street. you have to prove yourself as a movable or silent prop first. and if their is a position open as a host then apply for it.. i was just lucky that someone left, but i dont plan on leaving any time soon.

and to answer your second question.. you can do what ever you need to do to be a winning player. just dont make a seen or enemies at the table..beacuse you work their. i normally just put my head phones on and just play. not trying to make any friends or enemies since am their for one purpose to make money.

But I still don't understand how having a "host" type prop benefits the house... If anything it seems it would hurt them since they are A) Paying you, and B) losing a paying seat.

Casinos aren't in the business of losing money, so obv they are benefiting from the arrangement somehow?

I do a lot of things that benefits the casinos.. for example if am playing at a full 40/80 and their is 4 people in the waiting list for my game.. then i ask the players if they want to start a "must move table" if they all agree then i take some chips at the new table and play with them (since am a host i can leave my chips at one table and play at a other table) and wait until their are at least 6 people at the table not counting myself. and then move back to my original table. and thats how the casino makes money because a new table just started..

I also go to meetings to figure out ways to bring in more customers. such as tournaments with a nice add-on, cash give aways..ect
