earning interest
I was wondering what the best way to earn interest is for canadian citizens. I'm canadian and I'm looking to earn interest on the bunch of US dollars that's just sitting in neteller right now. I've tried opening an account at ING and other places but most of them are only for US citizens and require SSN's so I haven't been able to. Anyone know where I can open an account and earn good interest?
Thanks, |

[ QUOTE ]
ING is available in Canada too. ING 3% savings account, 3.5% 90 day GIC, 3.6% 180 day, etc. [/ QUOTE ] Problems: NETeller won't let Canadians take USD EFTs, they insist on converting it to rip you off hardcore on the exchange. Alternatively, you can take a USD cheque. However, after however long it takes neteller to send it, all canadian banks I know of but a 30 day hold on foreign currency cheques... what a waste of time-money. Then if you want to put that money back into your bankroll, well, neteller won't accept USD EFTs either (you simply can't register a USD account with neteller if they know you're canadian) so with the exchange rates, taking the money out of neteller effectively kills any investment potential that I'm aware of. |
