So i got my PS3 and im getting the 26 inch Westinghouse from Best Buy uber cheap. So i need an HDMI wire to hook up the HD from it. Is all i need a regualr HDMI male to male connection? I also see something called HDMI/DVI? But i assume thats for something else and i dont need it? Anyone know about this stuff? Do i need wires for my cable box as well?

So I was debating this. Lets say you have a ps3 but the HDTV you own is only 720p. Whatever ps3 game you play only displays in 480p and 1080i. Since of the currently issue of HD resolution conversion does that mean the game will only play in 480p?

I think so, i think thats what all the hubub is about. Supposedly Sony is working on a firmware fix, but others are speculating it cant be fixed.

The PS3 can't upconvert so in that case you would be playing in 480p - same as P2.

I have strong feeling that Sony will continue to make better firmware updates, and issues like this will be taken care of.

Is the output on the PS3 HDMI? If it is all you need is a male to male HDMI. If it's some special PS3 thing than you'll need to buy that. I don't know what comes with the PS3. For my HDTV I have a couple of male to male I bought on monoprice.com which connects my Cable Box to my TV and my DVD player to my TV. But I'm not sure how the PS3 works.
