Re: Is Poker the Cleanest Sport???
Most people who play live and lived on casinos most of their lives (doyle, slim, stuey, moss, etc) are crooks...
Internet players are "clean" meaning they are like regular people and not hustlers or degens. |

Re: Is Poker the Cleanest Sport???
How did Johnny go from a solid NVG poster to one who almost startles me with the lack of intelligence in some of his recent posts?

Re: Is Poker the Cleanest Sport???
If you will notice, I asked a quesion, "Is Poker the Cleanest Sport???" I am saying that poker has a very good television image and national image. Poker players are downright heroes nowadays. There is so much scandal in other sports and show business with Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, and Nicole Richie doing some jail time.
Cheating in live poker is very rare and always has been rare. The bigger the game, the more experienced the gamblers, the less cheating. In casinos, you have a lot of people watching, the eye-in-the-sky, and cheating is extrememly dangerous because you can always get caught. In Nevada, they put gambling cheats in prison. In Texas, they shoot thieves in the hand, to mark them. I do not know anyone that cheats at live poker. I do know a little group that cheat on the Internet by playing partners in sit and gos. I resent someone saying that Doyle, Slim, Sailor, and all their generation were cheats. Whether or not to cheat is far more than a moral issue. Anybody with half a lick of sense would be afraid to cheat the poker games in the Lone Star State. If gambling is illegal, everyone uses better manners than in casinos or on the Internet. You want to get home winner, but you also want to get home without any bullet holes in your torso. [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] |

Re: Is Poker the Cleanest Sport???
Poker is definitely NOT clean if you are looking at tournament poker from the doping (use of performance-enhancing drugs) perspective.
