Default New Dell 1720 & 800Mhz FSB- Ram only runs at 667 mhz?

I'm looking at ordering a new Dell 1720 (which have replaced the E1705's). It has a numberpad, which is cool, a built in webcam option, which I'll probably not use but whatever, its cheap. However, with the 800 mhz fsb option and 4 mb cache, shouldn't I be able to include ram that also runs at 800mhz? Am I missing something? Also, kinda disappointed that they shove a 8600 gt in there as I've heard that at high resolutions, they perform worse than the 7900 gs, which is no longer an option, and I'm sure the 8600 DirectX 10 support is gonna be a complete joke anyway.

Here's the specs, I'm sick of waiting to buy a laptop, as my crappy old 1 ghz keeps dying on me while 10 tabling, but should I wait a few weeks for better graphics card or faster ram? Isn't ram supposed to run at the speed of the motherboards fsb? Total comes to $1,362 after coupon, before tax.

I don't think 800MHz laptop memory is very common yet.

7900gs will outperform the 8600gt in most benchmarks, but the 8600gt isn't a piece of crap. It will run semi-modern games fairly well, and for poker it won't even break a sweat.

Just don't expect very good performance if you run a modern game at your lcd's native resolution.

Also if you're heavy duty into poker, I'd consider a 7200rpm HD if you can afford it. Consider skimping out on things you don't need if price is an issue.

That is a sweet laptop though. I wish I had one.

Weak thing is, Dell isn't allowing the 7200 rpm hd as an option right now. It DOES, however, allow for 2 hard drives. I'm thinking it should be easy to add a second drive should I need it. I'd like my next drive to be a big 350 gig 7200, when they become available.
