Is this a bluffing situation. The reason I ask is what hand would you raise with pre-flop, and all the way, and not just check it on the river?

Overpair.

Didn't know if you wanted crit on the hand, but I usually fold preflop, fold flop.

AA, KK or any decent over pair.

Fold the flop.

Definitely fold the turn, pot odds is giving you $3 and i dont think the implied odds justify $7

I usually fold something like this preflop too, but not this time.

On the flop I thought it could be a blind steal situation, so I waited for one more card.

The turn helped, so I looked at one more card again.

I am a 18/7 player with a winrate of 2PTBB/100

Would AA or KK raise $17 on the river?

Doesn't matter, don't get your self in those situations end of story.

Every stage was a clear fold...

This is what I did.

The only hands that make sense for him to bet $17 ON THE RIVER are a bluff, a full house or a straight. There is nobody that raises with AA, KK or any other overpair. If I did a poll on his hand and asked should I bet or check, it would come out 99% check. This is a very scary board against a big blind.

Most of the hands that make sense to bet $17 with on the River do not make sense at the beginning of the hand. Certainly he could have had a low pair, or A5, but the chances of him having this are really low.

When he bet the river like he did, I thought he didn't think he had me beat, and had to move me off a hand. It was such a crazy bet.

I Pushed all in. He had $20 left, and instantly folded.
