Default Grade the April Magazine

The April issue of the Two Plus Two Internet Magazine again has a majority of poker strategy articles (8). Andrew Brokos looks to be a regular, strong contributor to the Magazine with his tournament articles. But, those of you who haven't already heard Nolan Dalla's story should be most interested in his article about a confiscated $5,000 MGM Grand chip.

Strategy- 8
The Last Bet by Andrew Brokos
Playing with the ICM Formulas by Allen Kratz
Priming the Pump in Omaha 8 or Better by Frank Jerome
Some Pre-flop Raising Considerations in Omaha 8 or Better by Frank Jerome
An Overlooked Under Representation by Nate Meyvis
Playing a Big Pot with a Big Hand- Fast Playing in Order to Build a Pot by Steve Schult
It Doesn't Always Depend by David Sklansky
Classic Article: Calling All the Way

General Poker- 1
Classic Article: Jack and Jill by David Sklansky

Poker Journalism- 1
The Inside Story of Nolan Dalla's $5,000 Confiscated Chip by Nolan Dalla

Psychology- 1
Winners Make Good Trade-offs, Part 2 by Allan N. Schoonmaker, Ph.D.

Non-poker- 1
Differences in Sports Betting and Poker by King Yao

I sought out Nolan Dalla to get him to write his article in this month's Magazine. It's my hope that by shedding as much light on the incident that Nolan can be helped.

With six hold 'em articles, including tournament articles, this month was hold 'em heavy. I like seeing multiple hold 'em articles but six per month isn't liekly to be sustainable.

I haven't read much of the issue yet, but can you please fix the font of the Nolan Dalla article? It is very difficult to read. Why is there no standard font for the magazine?...every issue seems to feature articles in at least four different fonts.

I'll send Chuck a new version of the Dalla file later tonight. He probably won't upload it until tomorrow.

Whatever the problem is with the fonts, it should be gone after the big software upgrade next Saturday. The Magazine is gettinga mini-makeover and I won't be using HTML in the new format.

I hated the Sklansky article, and that is reflected in my grade of a 'B'.

There were some solid pieces this month and others which were a little ho hum. This isn't the best collection of your tenure but there's still plenty of merit in the April mag.
