Top Set, Draw Heavy Board
Just an example of chilling the [censored] out with top set on a draw heavy board where I could easily be a dog on the flop.
A lot of times people get excited and want to "protect" their hand oor think it's the nuts. This also gives an aggessive player to commit himself as a big dog. Poker Stars Pot Limit Omaha Ring game Blinds: $2/$4 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $137.95 UTG+1: $378 Normality: $132.05 Button: $459.50 SB: $658.35 BB: $294.95 Pre-flop: (6 players) Normality is CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $4 (pot was $6), Normality calls $4 (pot was $10), Button folds, SB calls $2 (pot was $14), BB checks. I'd still raise the flop, but not pot.

Re: Top Set, Draw Heavy Board
Villain's turn play doesn't make any sense. Why 1/2 pot if you are going to put it all in? He should have called your raise, then put the pressure on the river when the A fell to complete the str8.

Re: Top Set, Draw Heavy Board
This is only a question not a suggestion since I am a complete Omaha novice.
How can you be an underdog vs villain only on the flop unless he has a huge draw like AhKhTx and it's still close to 50:50 By just calling you give good odds to the other 2 players to call with weaker draws. And if one or both of them call then your position on the turn will be bad. |
