Why do people who are logged onto AIM have their away message on 24/7? Its really annoying cuz i can never tell if your actually at the computer or not. If you dont want people to IM you, then simply dont log in.

I know some of you here are guilty of this [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]. So fess up, why do you do it?

i dont want to turn my computer on every time i walk in the room, so i don't turn it off when i leave.
i read away messages compulsively so i like to have aim on
sometimes i don't feel like talking to anyone but i do want to read their away messages (compulsively)

Don't they appear as idle when they're actually away for more than 20 minutes? If they don't appear idle then they either just left or are still at the computer.

Well, the fact that he could even attempt to read the board puts him in the top 50% percentile skill in that game.

The player on my left was a 45-or-so Asian woman dressed like she thought she was 25 and hot. The player to her left was a 50-something white guy, about 5'10" tall, 300 lbs., with a complexion like a freshly-opened tin of uncooked Pilsbury dough. He kept touching her shoulders and belly, I'm guessing per some sort of "escort arrangement." It wasn't exactly easy to resist the puke reflex every time I accidentally caught a glimpse.

Can someone do me a favor and make this graphic look better? Basically I think the first word looks pretty good, but obviously I suck and the letters get bigger and sloppier as the phrase goes on.

You can turn off the idle option in the preferences. I turned my idle off a couple years ago when a girl bitched me out for being online but ignoring her.

you can change it in options to where others can't see how long you've been away from the computer, so it looks like you're always there

I think that's how I look. Works for me. I rarely ignore anyone when I am at the computer. But I like people not knowing I'm there just in case.
