Just to clarify, I think it should be 1gram/lb of lean mass, not total mass.

it depends, for leaner (not obese or super fatties) its usually total pounds...for obese and really fat its usually lean pounds...

sipping on a 30g powder protein shake over a span of like seven hours provides more muscle gain than other methods.
