Default Middle set, 4-straight out on river, villian checks. Value bet?

Dunno a lot about villian. Bet this junk, or what?

Cap the turn. Then call if he bets into you again on the river. If he checks, bet. As played, bet the river, and call the raise.

Why would he 3-bet a straight draw and then check when he hits? That really takes a special kind of "player". So we are way ahead against his adjusted range here. Probably two-pair who now fears the straight as well. Easy value bet imo.

cap turn bet river

on the turn I would discount sets and straights based on his flop play. his most likely hand is tpgk or a turned 2pair imo

we don't even need 66% because we are closing the betting with a cap

Because people like to do weird stuff, maybe he had a pair plus the draw, maybe he has a set, what do I know. I agree that it's a bet, I just don't think it's soooo easy.

Also, I was provoking a little because I find it annoying that people will so often reply to a thread just saying "easy this or that" based solely on the cards in heroes hand without any reasoning at all.

That I agree with. Also, a lot of people will say "he has an ace", while they mean "a large portion of his range contains aces". Oh well.

Alright, thanks dudes. I think capping the turn makes a lot of sense, looking back on the hand. I did bet the turn, and lost to a set of sevens, but there was no reason for me to worry about that on the turn.
