Going to be making a couple of business trips to in the next couple of months and was wondering if anyone had any info on where I might want to play. Looking for something in the neighborhood of 2-5 NL.

play at Sandia Casino Nice place. they will have several 1/2 nl games 200max buy in and probly 1 game of 2/5nl. No alcohol is served in NM when gambling so get used to that.

Thanks for the info. From what I had seen on cardplayer, Sandia had the largest poker room in the area. No drinking is ok, don't like to when I play.

Yes, Sandia is the best place to play in Albuquerque and the only one with any serious action. $2-5 doesn't go often and when it does, it is only after ~9 PM on the weekends (Thurs-Sat). No cap for that game, when it goes. There are regularly 2-3 tables of $1-2 NL, 2 tables each of $2-4 and $4-8 limit HE, 1-2 tables of $4-8 limit Omaha hi/lo with a half-kill, and 1-2 tables of $10-20 limit HE which plays like a California style $20-40 or $30-60 game. Some of the worst players in the universe play here, especially at $1-2. If you have a clue, you should almost be guaranteed to be ahead after 2-3 hours of play. I play in the Omaha game in the mornings and the $10-20 in the afternoons/evenings. Let me know when you are in town and maybe we can meet up.

The 2/5 NL game gets going down at Isleta more frequently. It's also a game filled with some pretty bad players. It can get pretty deep stacked too. Isleta is in the south valley.

Thanks. My bother and a friend of his might be making be tagging along sure they will be playing 10+hrs/day and I'll be playing as much as work will allow. I'll give you a holler when I head that way. New to 2p2 but I like the sense of a "family".

If they will play that much, tell them to get a players card to earn credit while playing. The credit can be converted to vouchers to buy gas across the street or used for food in the cafe.

I mean that 5-6 players are typically in each pot (regardless of the number of raises put in), average pot sizes are usually in the $300-500 range, and swings of $600-700 in a 3-4 hour time frame are not uncommon. To me, that is typical of a much larger game. I could be wrong, but I don't think most $10-20 games play that large.
