Re: changed my mind about michael vick, slap on wrist only
[ QUOTE ]
Feral said U.S. Surgical's demonstrations on hundreds of dogs each year through the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s were done to boost sales, not for medical re search or testing. [/ QUOTE ] ok can you read that? do you know english? do you realize they could have just made a video and killed just one dog, if a live dog was absolutely necessary? [/ QUOTE ] I would wager a rather large amount of money that my vocabulary far exceeds yours. Also, I am choosing to disregard the comments of this Feral, as I am able to find very little information to provide her with any credibility as a source. I've found a few articles on Feral on the internet, disregarding the ones written by her, all of which gave me the impression that everything uttered by this poor deluded woman should be disregarded, without at least documented video proof, several eyewitnesses (real, not "Friends of Animals" lackies) and time stamped photographical proof. Article 1 I do appreciate this posting though. In the past, I've only heard of the Humane Society (Good) and PeTa (kills more "rescued" dogs than all other Animal Rights groups combined). This Feral seems to be very closely aligned to the sick, almost insane thought process of Ingrid Newkirk, which is all the information I need to disregard her meaningless opinions. BTW, if you're interested in real animal rights, this is the best place in the world to send your donations. http://www.nokillnow.com/ Be sure to click Why Pit Bulls Are Scary as well. |

Re: changed my mind about michael vick, slap on wrist only
[ QUOTE ]
I think michael vick should get slap on wrist at most. why? http://www.nypost.com/seven/04022007/new..._dan_mangan.htm [ QUOTE ] April 2, 2007 -- Judith Giuliani once demonstrated surgical products for a controversial medical-supply company that used dogs - which were later killed - in operations whose only purpose was to sell equipment to doctors, The Post has learned. "It was a horribly cruel, outrageous program," Friends of Animals President Priscilla Feral said about the demonstrations of medical staplers on dogs conducted by U.S. Surgical Corp. employees during Giuliani's tenure there in the late 1970s. Feral said U.S. Surgical's demonstrations on hundreds of dogs each year through the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s were done to boost sales, not for medical re search or testing. [/ QUOTE ] alternately I think these ceo's and workers should do jail time. in the interest of the fair application of the law. [/ QUOTE ] Dude, rent "Something the lord made." Did you realize that open heart surgery would not have been possible without killing (testing the procedure) on tons of dogs first? Did you not realize that this was common practice for various types of surgical procedures? Torturing dogs (ie strangling them) is not the same as anesthetizing them and testing on them. They were in no pain and were probably treated very humanely. +EV |

[/ QUOTE ] an analogy would be for a gun shop to demonstrate their guns on dogs (shoot dogs) for customers to demonstrate the effectiveness and stopping power of their product. maybe you posted in the wrong thread or someting. |

Companies invest money to develop products where there is a perceived need. If they have a superior product that improves the quality of life or lessens recovery time or keeps people from dying on the operating table, it is still useless to you and me unless they can sell doctors on it. These doctor's don't buy a golf club without hitting it first. They sure as hell don't pick up some new surgery toys and wait till the operating room to give them a whirl. |

[/ QUOTE ] You do realize that the point of this article is much more in the interest of making a Republican presidential hopeful look bad than it is about dogs, right? Maybe you should learn to read between the lines a little more. They found some nutcase animal pawn that they could use to smear Giuliani, end of discussion. Never believe anything you read until you can verify it from three different articles written by three different authors in three different papers. Then be skeptical. |
