-----I really dislike them and consider them close to a waste of my time. But I pretty much play them every week.

What if the freeroll was reduced to $25,000 a week and every Supernova could purchase a special VIP Reward Bonus once a month from the VIP Store? 5,000 FPPs for $125

Would this be
Better
No difference
Worse

Scotty

This would essentially be giving me an extra $50 per month, right?

5k FPP's would normally be worth $75 to me.
And with this plan I'm getting $125 for the same amount of FPP's.

This doesn't exactly blow me away but I guess it's a step in the right direction.

Not sure whether I would prefer this or not since some of that value would still involve tying me up every Saturday.

Maybe I'll try figuring out some more of the numbers later to see if I think it would be better or not.

Scottyy, I understand that the freerolls go relatively quick as you mentioned in an earlier post. But it's still somewhat of an 'obligation' if one wants to get their full VIP value.

Common quotes from me to family and friends:
"Well, we can drive to the beach seperately so that I can make it back by 1:10 or so (U.S. central time) and play the dumb Saturday tourney."

"Hey guys, can't do lunch because I've got a tourney I have to play today."

"Whoops...gotta run. Have a tourney I have to play today."

etc etc.

Sometimes I blow it off. But mostly I'm rearranging my schedule just to get my free $65 or whatever in tourney value every Saturday so it's kind of a pain.

Didn't really consider the previously mentioned argument that it's really only $40 or so that is given to the SN's and the rest is funded by the Silvers who are getting in via the FPP-satellites.
So considering that extra value added in there I like them a LITTLE bit better.

I also understand that this time works best for most people. And for the most part it works fine for me. But I'm still juggling my schedule to make it to these and it kind of annoys me.
And I can only imagine how annoying these are for other people who have busier Saturdays or are in inconvenient time-zones for them.

This is why I advocate more flexible scheduling for these things.

A series of different $10k tourneys at different times throughout the week and you are allowed to spend your V$ at YOUR choosing.
etc etc.

Well, I like the fact that alternative solutions are at least being considered.

I'm not crazy about this idea though.

I would still have to play on Saturdays to get my value out of them. I'm looking for a way to free my Saturday afternoons up so that I can spend time with my family.

Under this specific scenario, I have the option to either free my Saturdays up and take the $50 instead of the $240 value I had before OR still play the freerolls (nothing accomplished) and have $170 in value instead of the $240 I had before.

Yuck.

but 5000fpp=$80.6 for sn...freeroll now$50k/(app.)800players)*4 = $250 per month...freeroll $25k = $125 per month...
why spend fpp when we get that value from the freerol as it is now?...(ok maybe some can't play etc.)...i believe the offer should be 0fpp for $100 at least?!...no?

I think it would market well as well.

Play for thousands in several of our special VIP tournaments each week!

One botched keystroke just wiped out a nice long post I wrote, so I'm going to re-write and paraphrase.

VIP freerolls are fun for me, I like the free shot at a ~10k score. Most players don't seem to care/sit out the entire tournament, so the field is very soft. I don't really play many tournaments, and it's nice to play against a field which seems to be mainly cash game players.

Only problem with them is the timing. I never seem to be able to play them, Saturdays are usually a non-poker day for me. I'm not sure what the answer to this dilemma is. I kinda wish the freeroll would just get moved to Sundays, so I could play the VIP Freeroll and the Sunday Million at the same time.

Here's an idea.

Have 2 small free rolls for the lower-tiered VIP members.

Give SuperNova's a choice of either one entry per month into either the Million, the Warm-Up or the Second-Chance OR a $200 bonus for 6,750 fpp ($100 value).
