Re: what do you think when a female gets moved to your table?
Whenever a woman sits down at my table, I always greet her with a "hello" and casually remind her that "5 of the same color" is not a winning hand.

Re: what do you think when a female gets moved to your table?
Inspired by this thread, the content of my September article is the most common stereotypes and how to use them. In it you'll find gems such as:
"Older players are generally extremely tight, think they know everything there is to know about poker, and are often extremely ruffled by young aggressive kids." "Sorry ladies, but y’all are usually really easy to play against, because women are often extremely weak and passive. " "Race: I’m not going to go here too much, but an Asian is way more likely to get in there and gamble than a 35 year old white guy. Not racial at all. It’s kinda like saying African Americans are better at basketball than white people. Obviously." "If the guy is wearing an “I busted a pro at Full Tilt Poker” shirt..." This is gonna be fun. Devo |

Re: what do you think when a female gets moved to your table?
Stevepa, good posting all around. I completely agree that when at the poker table if you decide to be PC instead of applying the proper generalizations you are throwing money away.
To those calling Black Aces a racist, oh my god please get over yourselves. There is absolutely nothing wrong with betting money based on a generalization. When you're going to be putting money down you need to use all the information you have, even if its stereotypical. Just because your capable of recognizing the higher probability of a person of one race or gender being better at a certain activity than another race/gender doesn't make you racist. If anyone here would ever like to bet 5 random black guys vs 5 random white guys in a basketball game or any other racially insensitive bet where there's a clear edge for me, i will gladly bet 25k on the outcome of any and enjoy not being PC while i buy a new car with your money. |

Why is that? |

I'm glad we don't have segregated tournaments, if that's what you mean. It's one of the great things about poker, that makes it different from other games/sports/whatever. |

Re: what do you think when a female gets moved to your table?
Soulman, I guess you missed my last post where I said that this dance is done for me...no great value in debating when we are not going to see eye to eye.
I am not a fan of Women Only events for many reasons...but feel free to take the Jose Conseco approach and play them if you think it will give you an edge...at the very least, I am sure you would have a good laugh just as I do when playing open fields with mostly men. Good Luck! |

So I was sitting here watching some random Annie Duke "female poker" video and she has lots to say about how women should act at the poker table. It got me to thinking about how we all view females when they get moved to our table. For instance, say you are in the top 5% of a mtt and the lady has 2x average. Do you think she is decent or just some donk like you would think of a random older man with lots of chips? Also, what do you think if it is at the start of a mtt?
