5-10. Call fold or 4 bet preflop. AQo
Villain seems solid and capable. Hero just sat down a few minutes ago. No real solid reads. 6 handed. Villain in SB
Folds to Hero who opens in the CO with AQo to 35. Button Folds. Villain raises to 135, BB folds, HEro's action? Is this a standard fold? I was thinking, if Im folding hands like AQ and even AQs to a reraise here... what hands am I calling with? even PP don't seem like a good idea because there's no gaurantee he even has a big pair. If I believe there's no gaurantee, I guess that leans my decision over to calling or even 4 betting. I just hate calling here because Im folding the flop so often and probably mistakenly floating the flop often too. 4 bet? Or just fold? Decisions. In a vacuum, such as this, what reasoning should I be going throguh? |

Re: 5-10. Call fold or 4 bet preflop. AQo
I'd say 4betting to like $400 would commit you to calling shove, and would probably be profitable vs someone very laggy. However, from someone with even somewhat taggish stats you should just pitch the hand preflop. I don't like flatcalling in position with it tbh- so much better to flatcall preflop in position with AK, but that is only vs taggish opponents.

I think in position you can take a flop a lot of the time, folding sometimes, save 4betting for when you are OOP.
