[ QUOTE ]
One problem I found with this is that they consider opposition to NAFTA opposition to free trade in general. As far as I have learned NAFTA is not really free trade and puts in a lot of regulation. I like the idea of free trade, but NAFTA is not going to get us there. [/ QUOTE ] This is an example of why polls like this are counterproductive. They boil down complex positions into soundbite-style answers so stripped of detail that they lose their meaning. |

[ QUOTE ] Ron Paul shares a 94% similarity with your beliefs [/ QUOTE ] Be careful; they have Dr. Paul's position on free trade incorrect. They have him moderately opposed to free trade; he is not. He completely supports free trade. He is however strongly opposed to "free trade", i.e. what is called free trade today, which is anything but (NAFTA, CAFTA, SHAFTA). Edit: Or, What CC said. [/ QUOTE ] It might just be a display issue, since the test says that Ron Paul and I have 75% similarity in the area. Moderately oppose and strong support aren't really similar. |

I like the idea of free trade, but NAFTA is not going to get us there. [/ QUOTE ] That is an important point. NAFTA is not free trade at all due to the regulations it creates. The one-world-government types or new-world-order types (Bush41, and apparently Bush43 also) seem to love things like NAFTA that take sovereignty away from the USA and transfer it to unaccountable international organizations. |
