Re: i swear I\'m not making this up
I look like I'm ~ 19-20 and got carded by cocktail waitress while playing table games and poker. I literally got carded 10 times daily. And, so what? I look young, they're doing their job.
Would you rather them risk their job and not card you? Not to mention, I believe if they serve an underage person, THEY PERSONALLY get fined, not just the casino. |

Re: i swear I\'m not making this up
[ QUOTE ]
You work in the casino industry. How could you possibly have a problem with that??? Do you not know how serious it is for EVERYONE who allows a minor to gamble? Some kids were playing blackjack somewhere in the 90's (I forget if it was Bally's or the Hilton, but I'm pretty sure it was one of those). They maxed out Dad's credit cards, and blew it all in a few hours. When Dad found out, he naturally raised a stink about the casino allowing minors to gamble. Gaming looked at the tapes, and assessed the casino a $50,000 fine for every employee who could've carded these kids, and didn't. Between the number of dealers who dealt to them, the number of floor people working in that pit, the number of employees working in surveillance, the number of cocktail waitresses who served them...it came out to about 30 violations, @ $50k per. Do the math. Gee whiz, she asked to see your license, and you showed it. The entire ordeal took less than 30 seconds (or would have, if you didn't make a big melodramatic production about it). Stop acting like it was the greatest inconvenience to which you've ever been subjected. Boy, being young is such a drag. Us 40-year-olds really feel bad for you. (I'd give everything I own, and 90% of what I will own in the future, for the rest of my life, to be in my early 20's again.) [/ QUOTE ] You are probably mistaken about Al's age. I would never ID Al. And I would not card him for a red bull -- It reminds me of the time the cashier in the supermarket ID'ed me when bought a 6 pack of root beer. |

Re: i swear I\'m not making this up
While Dave is a fine-looking man as degenerates go, if I had to wager on him either a) being mistaken for underage; or b) being mistaken for Mick Jagger, I'd choose the latter.

Re: i swear I\'m not making this up
The only time I've been carded for a drink at a table was when I ordered a coffee at the Wynn. I always thought that was bizarre but it makes more sense atfter YTF's post.

Re: i swear I\'m not making this up
I was at V a few hours ago and this very thing came up - a guy had been carded for water there. I asked the dealer about it and he said part of the cocktails job is to check ID for ANY drink orders in the room to try and catch < 21 players. Dealer claimed casino can be fined $100k for having underage players.
