I've never seen a player get rushed at the Bellagio to be honest, I've thought about calling the clock on players before but never found the need as most of the time long decisions seem to be genuine rather than posturing.
I had a guy tank on me for 4-5 minutes the other day at a 2-5 game when I went all in for 400 into a 600 pot and not once did anyone even mention a clock.

I am not suggesting this is the case here, but the dealer putting the lcock on somebody could be something pre planned between the dealer and a player at the table.

Al,
This time I must disagree with you.
Bad floor people does not = under paid.
I know a bunch of floor staff that does a bang up top notch 100% approved job while in the same room they have a few that do a piss poor, lazy do not care, I see you talking but I like it my way because I said so attitude 100% bad customer relation job.

Problem with a lot of the floor is they are burnt out dealers who want off the tables. Casinos are not looking for enthusiastic, want to learn, customer relation trained individuals.
Because of this attitude, a TOP OF THE LINE room for player comfort, game selection, good top notch staff just will not exist in this town.

What the floor told you "tonight" was either poorly explained and/or misunderstood.
Dealers WILL NOT put the clock on players at CAZ.
A player must request a clock to be put on a player.
The dealer must call for the floor. When the floor arrives, they are told that seat "x" hasn't acted.
It is assumed by floor that if they are called for this issue, a PLAYER has requested a clock on the player, and that an inordinate amount of time has already passed.
The floor will tell the player...

"Sir/Ma'am you have thirty seconds to act on your hand, I will countdown with ten seconds left, if you haven't acted by then, your hand is dead."

[/ QUOTE ]

This is in direct contradiction to what was explained to me by the floor. I was very explicit in the questions I asked. The dealer called the clock. The dealer did not tell me he had started the clock until he reached the 10 second countdown. No player requested a clock. The floor was not called until I asked for the floor because I was incredulous that the dealer could and/or would do this.

I very much hope that you are correct, as what you explained is the procedure that I expect and consider normal and reasonable. Suggestions for reconciling the difference?

I'm not saying it's right, but I can understand. The guy IS working on tips and doesn't make anything when the game grinds to a halt while someone "thinks" forever. Of course, this goes for the winning players too. This is one reason why I can't play NL. I don't have the patience for that. Although, thinking on the river is more understandable than those who take forever deciding what to do pre-flop.
