88 vs TAG

Villain is a 25/19 TAG whom Ive played a lot with. I dont think ive seen him 3 barrel before.

I did some calcs last week for a similar flop spot. with the assumption that villain will double barrel 100% if we c/c the flop but only call a turn bet with a pair+ if we c/r the flop, it is more +ev to c/c the flop. there are some turns we should c/r though to make him fold 6 outs worth of equity and not get owned by his positional advantage on the river.

this def isn't one of those c/r cards though. I like your line a lot

If the K hadn't come on the turn and the board paired on the river I'm guessing most of you would be calling?

I kinda misread the board. I am c/r'ing this flop 100%. I am getting called down by Ax and I prevent overcards from taking any free cards.

If he raises the turn or 3-bets I will sometimes fold somewhere depending on the action and any reads.

if he always calls down Ax it is close and probably more +ev to c/r and bet down

I don't think that too many TAGs will do that on such a dry board though

seems like I am getting looked up here 100% by Ax. But I cant tell whatthey fold of course.

I guess its an image thing. If you dont get looked up by AQ you should start c/r your entire range on that flop.

C/R the flop - I don't think this is a good spot to play WA/WB. And from there, I have a very hard time finding a fold unless the turn and river are like AdKd and he gets aggro. That said, this turn is about the worst card in the deck as he can believably rep Kx while there is good possibility of Axdd or QJ/JTdd. But that's results oriented and this particular turn is going to suck no matter what you do on the flop.

These hands suck. The problem is when you CR, what are you doing on a A/K/Q turn? Checkfolding? I think a checkfold on an ace is pretty clear.

What about when you get raised on a blank turn? Calling down? Calling and checkfolding the river? My issue is that checkraising the flop and calling down a turn raise in these hands seems to be one too many bets for this type of hand given the PF action.
