yeah it has to do with the ability of an executable file to write to files on its own. I gave up on Vista. Perhaps kerowo will chime in, or you could search in Software with +vista -re:

so it doesn't write the HHs either? What you wrote "as is", doesn't make sense to me... tons of apps write tmp files or what-not.. BTW, I'm not running vista [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

Garmin c550 for me. We took it on your 5k mile trip this summer. Took us straight to tthe parking garage at Times Square without a hitch, among other various destinations/pit stops along the way. Traffic updates were pretty cool too. I liked it because it has the hands free blue tooth. There are no maps to load.

I tried a Tom Tom, and it was a little more user friendly, but didn't have the hands free blue tooth.
