I've never seen any chart or heard someone mentioned about that... is it the same as hold'em's pot odds? thank you in advance |

Re: pot odds
That you need to ask this question suggests to me that you don't understand what pot odds are.

Re: pot odds
no I do understand pot odds in Hold'em.
when you have a 4 outs, you must have 10.5 to 1 or more to call on the turn. 9 outs, 4 to 1 or more to call on the turn. But my question is does seven card stud has the same pot odds as hold'em |

Re: pot odds
I strongly suggest you read Theory of Poker.
When figuring out pot odds in stud you must account for dead cards... |

Re: pot odds
Ummm, really, pot odds are pot odds. Doesn't matter if it's hold'em, stud, or Follow the Queen. Now what changes the number of unknown cards, so that the required pot odds are different for, say, a four-outer in stud than they are in hold'em. I think this is what you're asking.
On the turn in hold'em, there are 46 unknown cards, barring dealer errors, morons mucking face up in disgust, etc. These calculations don't change much from hand to hand. On sixth street in stud, you will have seen somewhere between ten and 34 cards. If you have four outs and there are 32 unknown cards, then four cards help you and 28 don't, so you need 7:1 pot odds to see the river. Practically speaking, if you're drawing reasonably live on sixth street, you need to see the river. |
